In advance of each hurricane season, the Town of Carolina Beach previously issued Vehicle Identification Decals to property owners and permanent residents.  In 2017, the Town will issue Town Identification Cards (TIC).  These cards will be issued to property owners, agents and permanent residents/business owners.  The purpose of these cards is to expedite re-entry to Carolina Beach once a mandatory evacuation order has been lifted.

The Town will begin accepting applications with documentation on January 3, 2017. 
 

Along with a completed application, the following documentation will be required:

  • Property Owners:  Individuals, groups or corporations owning property within town limits may receive (2) two TICs.
    • Valid State Issued ID and
    • a copy of NHC Tax bill or a copy of a current utility, cable or phone bill identifying the individual and the property
  • Agent: Property Management Companies, Brokers or State Licensed Contractors identified by the property owner may receive (2) two TIC. 
    • Valid State Issued ID and
    • a completed Emergency Property Security Authorization formwith the notarized signature of the property owner, and
    • a copy of the Property Management Listing Agreement signed by the Broker in Charge or a copy of a valid NC State Contractor’s License
  • Permanent Residents/Business Owners: Individuals, groups or corporations identified by the property owner may receive (2) two TIC.  Owners of boats docked at property within town limits may qualify as a Permanent Resident/Business Owner
    • Valid State Issued ID and 
    • a copy of a current lease for the property used as a residence, business or dock, or a copy of a current utility, cable or phone bill identifying the individual and the property, or valid Town Business Registration

  • Free between January 1st and February 15th
  • $5.00 after February 15th, $15.00 after March 15th
  • $5.00 first replacement, $10.00 second replacement
  • Non-transferable, non refundable, not prorated
