New Hanover County Building Safety issues Building Permits for Residential and Commercial construction projects in the Town of Carolina Beach. All trade (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) permits are also issued by New Hanover County Building Safety

Other permits can be submitted digitally via the Online Permitting Portal. You can access printable permit applications by clicking here. Please be sure you are using the latest version of the application.

Monday thru Friday: 7 AM-6 PM
Saturday: 9 AM-5 PM
Sunday: NO WORK

To Request an Address:
In order to apply for a permit the property address must exist and be current in the system. For addressing requests, contact Gigi Baggarley, GIS Administrator at gigi.baggarley@carolinabeach.org. If requesting the addition of units to an address, please include a copy of the site plan in your email. 

To Schedule an Inspection:
If the building permit is issued by the Town of Carolina Beach, building inspections are requested by emailing permits@carolinabeach.org

If the building permit is issued by the Town of Carolina Beach, zoning and utilities inspections are requested by contacting Town staff.

If the building permit is issued by New Hanover County, all inspections must be requested via COAST.
