OTHER FEES

General Service Call:  Water service customers shall pay a $50.00 nonrefundable fee each time a technician site visit is required during normal business hours.  This fee will include if a customer requests that a meter be read, checked or turned on of off.  If an issue is found with the meter, the $50.00 service fee may be waived at the discretion of the Town Manager or Utility Director.  If a time is set for a customer to meet a technician at the property and the customer fails to meet at the designated time, the customer will be charged $10.00 for each additional time a technician must return.  A $75.00 nonrefundable fee shall be charged for each requested site visit outside normal business hours.  This will include night, weekends, and holidays fee.

Meter Test Fees:  When meter tests are performed at the request of the customer, he or she shall pay a $40.00 fee that will be refunded to the customer if the tested meter does not meet the American Water Works Association standards.  No refunds shall be made if the meter meets these standards.  Tests on meters larger than 1" can be tested for additional fees.

Hydrant Meters: if someone would like to rent or use a hydrant meter within the town limits of Carolina Beach, a customer may fill out and pay a deposit for a hydrant meter. The customer would have to list the date needed and location for the hydrant meter use. Once the deposit is paid and application is filled out a work order is generated for a technician to meet with the customer to install the hydrant meter to the requested Town of Carolina Beach fire hydrant. Once the project is completed and the customer does not need the hydrant meter anymore, then the customer would need to contact the technician or billing office to have the meter removed and returned to the operations department. A manual bill is then generated with fees based on usage and dates used. The deposit is applied to the manual bill. If there is a remaining balance, the customer must pay the remaining balance. If there is a credit due to the customer, a refund check is issued 30 days after the manual bill is created.Hydrant Meter Form
